MMG Resources Inc. is MMG's Canadian exploration and development operation with projects in Nunavut and Ontario. We are looking to appoint a Senior Resources Geologist for the Canadian operations.
The Role
MMG is looking for a Senior Resources Geologist to be part of the team in Vancouver, BC.
Reporting directly to the Project Manager - Canada and working closely with the Project Development Group and Exploration Group in Canada and Australia, this positions primary role will be to develop 3D geological and resource models and give guidance to all Feasibility and Infill drill programs for MMG's Nunavut advanced projects.
The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Develop geological models and Resource Estimates which comply with MMG policy, JORC and/or NI 43-101.
- Identify and gain a comprehensive understanding of the projects lithology, structures, mineralisation and controls.
- Provide direction for the drilling campaigns for Feasibility and Infill requirements and for locating site infrastructure.
- Provide support to the Mine Engineers on optimal mining widths, dilution factors and grade control protocols.
- Review and develop QA/QC systems for data collection.
- Assume a key-leading role in the preparation of the Geological Section of the Feasibility Study.
- Engage, direct and review studies conducted by specialist consultants.
The Successful Applicant
This role requires a person with outstanding technical skills and personal attributes including the following:
- Bachelor of Science (Geology)
- Ability to sign-off as a Qualified and/or Competent Person for base metal mineral resources.
- Working knowledge of Geostatistics and 3D Block modelling packages.
- Seasoned mining professional with a track record of success at the level of mine resource geologist.
- High level mining, geology and processing skills.
- Excellent planning skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- The ability to travel to and work in remote locations.
