This is an exciting time to join MMG as we aspire to be the top mid-tier miner by 2020. Reporting to the General Manager Safety, Environment and Social Performance, you will play a key role in leading and supporting the approach to Environmental Management across MMG’s operations globally. You will work with a range of stakeholders developing and supporting implementation of strategies to effectively manage environmental risk at MMG operations globally in line with MMG’s Standards.
With a keen understanding of business drivers, you will work in partnership with operations to effectively manage our key environmental risks and to protect and enhance MMG’s reputation. As a recognised leader in your discipline, you will provide valued advice on a suite of environmental management strategies, systems, plans and processes across MMG operations globally.
To be the successful candidate you will have tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or a related discipline. You will come from a strong environmental management background demonstrated within a senior role, ideally in the resource sector. Important to the role, will be your ability to influence and engage with senior leaders globally. To further your success in the role, you will have broad experience in environmental risk management, governance and assurance, combined with sound business acumen skills along with outstanding time management skills and a high degree of personal accountability.
