The role of the Long Term Planning Superintendent is provide long term mine planning and scheduling technical expertise and leadership to support MMG Las Bambas operation, regulatory reporting, studies, projects and due diligence programmes. The role creates optimal value for MMG through the long term mine planning and business planning processes by effective engagement of all stakeholders at site and within Group functions.

The responsibilities included are: 

  • Provide mining physicals for Life of Asset (LoA) planning process.
  • Support annual integrated business planning (IBP) cycle, including RRA.
  • Prepare annual Cut-off-Grade (CoG) calculations and report for the Competent Person (CP) to sign off
  • Lead the Ore Reserve estimation process which includes cut-off grade calculations, pit optimization, mine and phase designs, ore reserve estimates as per the JORC code.
  • Prepare ore reserve Table 1 (Technical Table) and ore reserve report for the Competent Person (CP) to sign off
  • Develop & implement long term mine design, haulage optimisation and planning for Las Bambas.
  • Complete all required statutory reporting for Las Bambas.
  • Provide technical support to studies and M&A activities as required
  • Manage and mentor long term planning team based in Lima office
  • Work closely with Mine Technical Services (MTS) team to ensure the long, medium and short term mine planning processes are fully integrated.
  • Lead the strategic analysis for Las Bambas asset by finding the way to maximize the orebody and operation value by managing various projects at conceptual stage related with the mine planning side of the business.

¿What do you need to apply?:

  • Tertiary qualified mining engineer
  • Member of AusIMM
  • Knowledge: Mine planning, Relevant JORC codes, Risk analysis and management, Feasibility study, Business planning, Business improvement and optimisation, Good understanding of base metals geology and metallurgy, Financial evaluation and Project management.
  • Extensive base metal mining experience with significant exposure working in an open cut mining environment at multiple operations.
  • Operational experience.
  • Drilling & blasting experience
  • Short, Medium, and Long Term Planning
  • Project evaluation
  • Supervisory experience
  • Mining feasibility study and estimation
  • Equipment selection
  • Reserve & resource reporting
