Located in North-West Queensland, MMG’s new mine, Dugald River, is a world-class zinc-lead-silver deposit.
We are currently seeking enthusiastic local community candidates interested in starting a career with us for our 2020 intake.
The Traineeships and Apprenticeships may include Electrician, Mechanical Fitter, Diesel Fitter, Boilermaker, Plumber, Carpenter, Mobile Equipment Operator, Laboratory Technician, Processing Operator, Water Operations Technician, Business Administration, Hospitality, Underground Operator, Underground Service Crew, Field Technician and IT Communications Technician.
These positions are open to locals of the Mount Isa region, which includes the City of Mount Isa and the Shire of Cloncurry.
The roles will be based on site at Dugald River Mine, approximately 65km north-west of Cloncurry.
As part of the Dugald River Trainee Program, you will participate in MMG’s 11 Week Right Fit Program which enhances self and team development giving you life-long employment skills that hold you in good stead on any workforce. This program is intended to provide 12 candidates with the opportunity to understand the MMG way, our Vision and Values, the role that you will be applying for and the nuances of living and working on a mine site.
The Right Fit Program will commence on 1 October 2019 and conclude on 17 December 2019.
10 Successful candidates will then go on to complete a 2-year traineeship or 4-year apprenticeship which will commence in January 2020.
Rosters will be 8 days on/6 days off and you will be required to stay onsite at Dugald River for your 8-day roster. MMG will transfer you to and from your commute base.
Shortlisted candidates must be available to attend an assessment centre in the local region on Monday 12 August or Tuesday 13 August. Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-employment medicals booked by MMG during the period of 15-23 August 2019.
Remuneration for the role includes a competitive, market-based salary.
