Process Control Engineer

MMG’s Dugald River Mine is a world-class zinc-lead-silver deposit located in north-west Queensland.  The operation has been in commercial production for only 18 months hence is still relatively new thus represents a fantastic career opportunity for an eager, enthusiastic and highly motivated control engineer to join the team and facilitate the growth and improvement of a system in its infancy.

Reporting to the Superintendent – Processing Support, you will be responsible for the ongoing maintenance and optimisation of the SCADA/PLC system to support site operations and ensure process control functionality is of the highest quality.  You will be pivotal to ensuring the control system architecture is maintained across site for additions, changes and improvements.

To be successful in this role, you will possess an intimate knowledge of Process Control System (PCS) architecture, a strong customer focus with sound communication skills, impeccable attention to detail and a thorough understanding of PCS optimisation. In addition, demonstrated experience with Wonderware System Platform (SCADA), Schneider M series PLC’s, UnityPro language, control loop tuning, alarm management, analysing/managing control system performance and experience within an operating concentrator will be highly regarded. A relevant tertiary qualification and a valid drivers licence are essential.

This role will be based on a 9/6, 4/3, 4/2 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of the points of hire.

Remuneration for the role includes a competitive base salary and annual bonus.

On-site accommodation at Dugald River is fully air-conditioned en-suite rooms and includes meal service and room cleaning. The village features communal media facilities including Telstra 4G coverage and WiFi access for online streaming services, onsite Medical Centre, sporting court, swimming pool and gym facilities.
