Trainee Program Officer – Dugald River

MMG's inaugural mine development project, Dugald River, is a world-class zinc-lead-silver deposit located in north-west Queensland.  With a development capital expenditure in excess of AUD1,400M, the scope of the project includes a two million tonne per year underground mine with twin decline access and conventional long hole and bench stoping; fine grinding and flotation circuits and a combination of existing and developed rail, storage and ship loading facilities.

What’s on offer

We are currently seeking a passionate hands-on Trainee Program Mentor who will strive on leading and developing our new talent into Minerals and Metals Group (MMG). In this role you will be part of our Training Team which is located onsite at Dugald River Mine (Northern QLD). In this rewarding role you will be reporting to the Training Coordinator and will have the opportunity to mentor and support Trainees through planned and purposeful work whilst they achieve their qualifications. You will also be part of the development, implementation and monitoring of plans and strategies for the successful completion of the Trainee Program.

The point of difference in this new role

As a successful Trainee Program Mentor, you will bring your passion and commitment combined with your experience within a similar Mentor role. Are you experienced in teaching, training or counselling type roles that focus on Indigenous employees or students? Also, an important part of the role is your flexibility and willingness to assist others, an understanding of issues and challenges with people returning to formal TAFE study as part of their training program.

How to be successful in this role

  • An understanding of the local Regional area or the willingness to learn and embrace this as a mentor.
  • Experience influencing in remote isolated areas and happy to be regional and away from the city lifestyle
  • Sound knowledge and experience in coaching, mentoring, training and learning principles
  • Coaching & counselling qualifications are great, but hands on experience is also an advantage
  • An understanding of current national and state training and qualifications standards is an advantage
  • Vehicle manual driver’s license is a must.
  • You must have the right to live and work in this location

 

Residential roster information

This great new role has flexible options for the right person and will operate on a residential roster from Cloncurry or Mount Isa to Dugald River mine.  We offer a great competitive salary package and relocation benefits. Kalkadoon applicants are encouraged to apply.

Accommodation and site information

At Dugald River you will have on-site accommodation that is fully air-conditioned en-suite rooms and includes meal service and room cleaning. The new village features, communal media facilities including 4G coverage, onsite Medical Centre, sporting, brand new swimming pool and gym facilities.
