We are currently seeking a dynamic and highly experienced
Medium Term Planning Engineer for our Rosebery Mine in Tasmania. This role is reporting to the Senior Engineer – Mine Planning and the purpose of this role is to deliver Mining Schedules (13 week to LoA) and Mining Panel Designs that are compliant with the Long-Term mining schedule and operational requirements . In addition, candidates must demonstrate expertise in establishing cultures and systems that imbed a safety awareness as well as application of rigor to planning and process within multi-disciplinary operational teams. Candidates with past achievements in complex dynamic underground mining are urged to apply. To be successful you must have a high level of interpersonal and reporting skills, with a strong ability to clearly articulate the salient message.

The responsibilities of this role will include, but not be limited to;
Develop, co-ordinate and present a rolling 13 Week schedule to optimise presented value in compliance with the long term mine plan.
Assist in the development of Quarterly schedules to support the LoA process and 13 Week Schedule
Work with Short-term Planning Engineers to develop and present panel design’s which optimise value presented and meet the long term mine plan.
Develop and co-ordinate a process for investigation of remnant mining and aid the Long-Term Planning Engineer in integrating remnant mining to optimise the long term plan and presented value.
Design and plan infrastructure to support the mining operation.
Short-Term Planning (Secondary)
Design and schedule underground development and stoping to meet the Medium and Long Term Schedule.
Co-ordinate the short term planning process and communicate with relevant stakeholders.
Minimise downtime and delay of operational activities through optimising the mining activity sequences and reducing interactions.
Review long term designs and optimise the short term stope shapes to maximise NSR value.
Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s standards and procedures in SHEC.
Hazard reporting as required to enable a safe workplace.
Involvement in Risk Assessments and THAs as required.
Bring with you your skills, experience and qualifications;
Minimum of 8 years mine engineering experience within an underground environment (metalliferous desirable).
Minimum of 5 years mine planning experience
Effective communicator at all levels of the business
Strategic and tactical thinker
Ability to work interdependently to achieve set targets
Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy
Ability to develop rapport, and build strong relationships with internal customers and suppliers
Relevant mine design and scheduling experience (Deswik preferred)
Underground mining methods; including development, sub-level open stoping, ventilation, drill and blast and haulage
Data capture, analysis and reporting
Working knowledge of Metallurgy, Geology, Processing and Survey processes
Well-developed analytical, interpretive and constructive / lateral thinking skills
Dilution and recovery factors for reconciliation purposes and associated systems
Tertiary qualified Mining Engineer (B.Sc minimum).
Able to work towards gaining and underground mine management qualification (desirable)
AusIMM membership and hold a valid LV driver’s licence
