Ventilation Engineer - Rosebery Mine

The Rosebery Mine in Tasmania is a polymetallic underground mine, in operation since 1936, which has current potential to extend life beyond 2030.

We are seeking an experienced Ventilation Engineer to join our Technical Services team at Rosebery. Reporting to the Senior Engineer - Mining you will play a key role in supporting the Rosebery operations in delivering its budget and strategic objectives by providing timely and deep expertise in mine ventilation. The role will be based at the Rosebery Mine.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the below;

  • A minimum of 3 years mine engineering experience with extensive underground ventilation experience (metalliferous desirable).
  • An expert in underground mine ventilation design, simulation, survey, monitor and reporting experiences
  • Understand the statutory ventilation requirement for safe operation
  • Sound knowledge of ventilation equipment selection, construction, and maintenance requirements
  • Underground mining methods, including ventilation and drill and blast.
  • Working knowledge of Geology, Processing and Survey processes.
  • Well-developed analytical, interpretive and constructive / lateral thinking skills

Your sound experience and skills in the below is highly desired;

  • Effective communicator at all levels of the business
  • Strategic and tactical thinker with the ability to achieve set targets
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, including diplomacy
  • Ability to develop rapport, and build strong relationships with internal customers and suppliers
  • Ability to effectively manage people and develop staff through regular feedback and coaching
  • Proficiency in mine design and ventilation software packages (e.g. Deswik, Ventsim etc)

Important to the role will be you will be Tertiary qualified Mining Engineering or mine Ventilation Qualification and hold a valid driver’s licence. This is a great opportunity to develop into the Senior Ventilation Engineer with a Global growing company.

This role represents a genuine career opportunity for a motivated professional.  This is a permanent residential role on a 4/3 residential roster, giving you the opportunity to become a member of the Rosebery community.  Naturally, MMG will support you with relocation to the area and provide generous housing assistance.
