Mine Manager - Rosebery

We are currently seeking a dynamic and strongly experienced Mine Operations Manager for our Rosebery Mine in Tasmania.  Rosebery mine has had continuous production since 1936 and is extend beyond 2030. With a strong community focus and core values including safety and integrity, we are proud of our role in community development and our economic contribution to the local Tasmanian industry.

Residing in the Rosebery township and reporting to the General Manager, this role manages the underground operations at Rosebery, including all mining personnel, contractors, mining activity and ancillary works.  You will ensure that the operations are carried out safely and in a timely manner in accordance with the mine plan.  Key to success in the role will be  your ability to optimise the operations through coaching and developing your people to enable them to take personal ownership of their roles and responsibilities on site. Your ability to deliver through people is vitalTo be considered, candidates must have skills, qualifications and experiences in complex mining environments that demonstrate the ability to make sound operational decisions. In addition to this, candidates must demonstrate expertise in establishing cultures and systems that imbed a safety awareness as well as managing multi-disciplinary mining teams.  Candidates with past achievements in underground mine management, base metals and change management and the ability to leverage the resources and industry of the local regions in which they operate within will be viewed favourably.

Candidates must have high level communication, interpersonal, influencing and negotiation skills, a strong ability to lead and motivate teams and have experience at a similar level. Essential to the role is a Tertiary degree in Mining Engineering and extensive proven underground operational experience

An attractive remuneration package including an incentive scheme, accommodation and allowances will be offered.

This role represents a genuine career opportunity for a motivated professional.  This role will be based on a 5/2, 4/3 residential roster. Naturally, MMG will support you with relocation to the area and provide generous housing assistance.
