MMG has a newly created leadership opportunity for an experienced
Maintenance & Engineering Manager for our Rosebery Mine in Tasmania. The MMG Rosebery Mine has had continuous production since 1936 and production is likely to extend beyond 2030. Residing in the Rosebery township and reporting to the General Manager, this position is accountable for the leadership and wholistic management of the Maintenance (Fixed and Mobile), Engineering and Reliability functions for the MMG Rosebery Mine site.
The position will focus on continuous improvement within the Rosebery Mine Maintenance and Engineering functions through drawing on previous experience in managing Maintenance and Engineering Functions of similar size for world class assets, and making decisions based on data and analytics. This is an exciting position where the successful candidate will develop strategy and capability in terms of value generation, cost efficiency and risk mitigation across site whilst looking for efficiencies and different ways of operating and performing work through established change management programs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Proven Leadership in the area of Maintenance & Engineering within underground infrastructure and surface processing plants.
Experience managing large Maintenance & Engineering teams preferably in a mining environment that has a processing plant or similar heavy industry.
Excellent leadership skills with strong communication, negotiation and influencing abilities.
Strong ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels – both internal and external to MMG Rosebery.
Tertiary engineering qualifications, mechanical or electrical or other maintenance related discipline.
Experience using SAP.
Some of your key day to day responsivities will consist of the below:
Developing and implementing wholistic site wide Maintenance & Engineering strategies.
Effective and inspiring leadership by supporting a culture of improvement, self-development, culture change and accountability.
Planning, overseeing and leading site wide maintenance shut downs.
Managing department operating forecasts and budgets including people headcount budgets.
Utilising world class SAP systems and processes to monitor and report on actual spend across site for Fixed Plant and Mobile resulting in decisions based on data and analytics.
Understanding planned / reactional maintenance trends.
Reviewing and implementing ‘right size teams’ that enable plans to be delivered, balancing contract labour to execute agreed Maintenance & Engineering strategies.
