MMG Dugald River, is a world-class zinc-lead-silver deposit located in north-west Queensland. We currently have a fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced
Mechanical Fitter to join our Maintenance Delivery team at Dugald River Mine.
Reporting to the Supervisor, you will provide Maintenance support to the Dugald River Mine operations. As a successful incumbent your duties are to ensure statutory compliance in maintaining fixed infrastructure whilst providing a safe working culture. The reliability and safe operation of assets are integral to this position as daily and weekly targets are measured against with production targets as critical KPI’s. You will apply duty of care as per Queensland Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Regulation and maintain a clean working environment, free from hazards and aligning to the MMG code of conduct and values.
To be successful in this role, you will possess a strong work ethic, have strong safety values and have extensive Fixed Plant maintenance, experience in both the Fitting/Turning and Boilermaking fields, ability to perform all repairs within scope, installation, servicing, overhauls and commissioning in a mineral processing fixed plant maintenance operations environment. You will have sound knowledge of SAP, grinding and flotation process. You will hold strong technical skills within ISA mills, filter press operations, paste plant repair methodology, Metso jaw crusher and underground dewatering experience.
You will hold a trade qualification in either Fitter & Turner-Machinist/Boilermaker/Fitter Welder fields with current First Aid, Working at Heights and Confined Space Entry certificates. You will have a current Queensland “C” class driver’s licence. An S1, S2 and S3 certificate, Hydraulic experience, non-slew or Slewing crane ticket, Dogman or Riggers high risk licence, Rii machinery tickets and Poly welding ticket will be advantageous.
This role is based on an 8/6, 7/7 (Days & Nights) roster, drive in drive out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa. Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package, annual bonus and generous local allowances.
