MMG Dugald River:
Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 zinc operations, located near Cloncurry in North West Queensland. Dugald River was successfully commissioned ahead of schedule and under budget, with first production of zinc concentrate leaving Dugald River in November 2017. Dugald River is estimated to have a mine life of 20+ years to process an average of 1.7 million tonnes of ore per annum. The operation predominantly produces zinc concentrate, with by-products including lead and silver.
Reporting to the Manager, Development and Improvement, this role will provide strong support and leadership for the management of the site annual improvement programs. The role will also provide support for key operational strategic projects growth aimed at driving long-term improvements in operational efficiency and competitiveness.
This is a newly created ‘Job split’ opportunity to work flexibly alongside our current Principal - Business Improvement who is moving to a part time arrangement to spend more time with his newly expanded family.

This role is offered on a negotiable roster pending your work location (FIFO or Residential) that is most suitable to your lifestyle with an estimated average 30 hours in each work week which can be split between site/remote work or an alternate rostered arrangement.
Skills and Competencies;
Superior stakeholder management skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations
Ability to lead and successfully embed continuous improvement initiatives
Demonstrated ability to understand business problems in operational environments and achieve solutions through teamwork and collaboration
Knowledge of Mining, Metallurgy and Geology process.
Contemporary knowledge and application of operational planning processes and Theory of Constraints
Extensive knowledge of risk management processes
Demonstrated experience in achieving business outcomes in complex environments
Experience with site database and systems (such as SAP, Pitram, PI, Ampla, Locafi),
Good experience in mining operations, preferably in base metals in leadership roles.
Tertiary qualifications in a relevant technical discipline
Certification by an accredited organisation in the Business Improvement discipline (such as Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Certification)
Some of your key responsibilities will include;
Development and management of plans for site Operations improvement projects including reporting both on and offsite
Engagement with group support for improvement projects, as required
Delivery of projected improvement outcomes into planning activities in MMG short and long term planning functions
Support management of site operational growth programs
Facilitate and support improvement projects in collaboration with the relevant area owners
As required support of site annual risk process and site MOC processes
Support maintenance of various site data display and reporting platforms (Power BI, Wave, Navori, site Intranet)
