MMG Dugald River:
Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 zinc operations, located near Cloncurry in Queensland. Dugald River was successfully commissioned ahead of schedule and under budget, with first production of zinc concentrate leaving Dugald River in November 2017. Dugald River is estimated to have a mine life of 20+ years to process an average of 1.7 million tonnes of ore per annum. The operation predominantly produces zinc concentrate, with by-products including lead and silver.
Mine Control Technician
We have an outstanding opportunity for a highly efficient and experienced Mine Control Technician at our Dugald River operation in North West Queensland. Reporting to the Superintendent Projects – Mining Operations, this role will provide support to the mine control and technical services team.
The role will provide mine control (Pitram) coverage, mining and mine control administration and support to the technical mining teams including ventilation, paste fill, geotechnical and survey functions.
This is a fast paced, multi-dimensional role and is offered on an 8/6 day and night shift roster, drive in drive out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville.
Qualifications Skills and Competencies;
Proven ability to work autonomously, proactively establish priorities and take responsibility for time sensitive deliverables.
General understanding of Underground Mining Environment
Previous exposure to Fly in Fly out Operation
Current Manual Drivers License
Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
Prior exposure / use of Pitram and DOME
Some of your key responsibilities will include;
Operate Pitram system ensuring data called in is entered accurately and in real time
Complete all required shift reports daily
VOD (Ventilation on demand) – operate louvres as required and report any issues with system to Ventilation Officer
Assist with first response communication in the event of an emergency
Perform daily duties as required for Reporting, Administration, Data Acquisition, Event Editor & DOME
Develop & improve the PitRam Management system
Daily validation of mining and geology data
Maintenance of Mine Control training procedures and processes
Liaise with Micromine on site system requirements to ensure system integrity is maintained as required
Ensure PitRam reports are made available when required
Mine ventilation surveys and VoD system management when required
Geotechnical QA/QC performance data processing and reporting when required
Paste fill sampling and testing data management and support when required
