Supervisor - Mobile Equipment Maintenance

MMG Dugald River:

The mine; Dugald River is fully owned by MMG Limited and is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc operation and is mined underground. Dugald River is expected to produce around 180,000 – 190,000 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate annually. The operation employs around 500 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. 

Supervisor – Mobile Equipment Maintenance

Reporting to the maintenance coordinator you will ensure all critical and non-critical maintenance task work performed supports the site deliverable targets and is planned and executed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Ensure planning, reliability, HSEC requirements & relevant statutory requirements are met.

This role will be based on an 8/6 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of these locations.

Qualifications, skills & competencies

  • Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualified or tertiary Mechanical / Electrical engineering qualifications
  • Understanding of budgetary and finance systems in relation to mobile maintenance
  • Understanding of Planning, Scheduling & Work Management requirements for mobile fleet
  • Understanding of reliability processes & requirements for mobile fleet
  • Awareness of Australian Standards & Statutory requirements
  • Mechanical & electrical knowledge of underground mobile fleets & maintenance requirements
  • Awareness of the relevant requirements under the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Acts and Regulations
  • Experience in leading teams of trades (mechanical, electrical & fabrication) & support staff in workshop & field environments
  • Experience using SAP, preferably for Mobile Maintenance Management

Responsibilities include

  • Implementation and safe delivery of the Mobile Maintenance Management Framework when performing maintenance activities.  The framework shall align to the MMG Standards.
  • Assist with the Capital machine purchases project across all project stages including build specification, budgeting, approval, design, installation, commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure the work teams are adhering to a Mobile Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Framework for delivery of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the work teams are adhering to a Mobile Maintenance Reliability Framework for delivery of reliability maintenance activities.
  • Assist with the selection and engagement of required resources for delivery of mobile maintenance activities.
  • Assist in monitoring and reporting on KPI’s, SHEC, cost, schedule and quality of mobile maintenance portfolio including escalating any potential threats to the Coordinator / Superintendent Mobile Equipment Maintenance.
  • Championing the use onboard Equipment Monitoring systems and Interfaces and provide training of personnel in the use of these systems.
  • Assist with the Management of Change process required in mobile maintenance to ensure overall site compliance with the MoC Procedure.
  • Developing, maintaining and enforcing company standards, procedures and policies.
