Planner Mobile Maintenance

MMG Dugald River:

The mine; Dugald River is fully owned by MMG Limited and is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc operation and is mined underground. Dugald River is expected to produce around 180,000 – 190,000 tonnes of zinc in zinc concentrate annually. The operation employs around 500 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. 

Mobile Maintenance Planner

Reporting to The Senior Maintenance Planner, this role is responsible to effectively manage the delivery of the Mobile Fleet Planning, Scheduling and Work Management processes whilst maximising resource utilisation within the MMG Framework as well as to ensure compliance to MMG, Master Data standards, Work Management and Statutory requirements.

This role will be based on an 8/6, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of these locations.

Qualifications, skills & competencies

  • Proven experience in a maintenance planning and scheduling role in a Mobile Fleet environment, with extensive experience with One-PM.
  • High level computer skills including SAP, One-PM Strategy Development, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office suite, Pivot tables, PCR Project Rebuilds.
  • High level prioritisation and effective communication skills
  • Strong planning, organisational and time management skills.
  • Trade or Engineering background.
  • Knowledge of common Maintenance practices and standards.
  • Knowledge of SAP system, SAP PM and Master Data objects.
  • Understanding of business and financial principles.
  •  All HV & LV Mobile Fleet underground and surface assets.
  •  Mobile Fleet Component Tracking & Mobile Fleet underground statutory requirements.
  • Understanding of Mobile Fleet budgeting process

Responsibilities include

  • Assist Planners to create, scope and plan maintenance work orders that enable effective utilisation of resources, including personnel, contractors, materials and documentation to produce the rough-cut plan and 6 weeks look ahead.
  • Delivery of all maintenance work plans and schedules.
  • Facilitate the weekly planning and scheduling meetings to ensure alignment and commitment of resources.
  • Review Subsequent Notification comments to ensure accurate data is collected in the field.
  • Liaise with work centre owners to ensure the work centre capacities are accurately updated in SAP.
  • Continuously improve Dugald River maintenance practices to enable effective maintenance performance, Including the review of equipment strategies in conjunction with the Mobile Fleet maintenance Superintendent.
  • Facilitate a weekly/monthly equipment component replacement meeting with the Mobile Fleet maintenance Superintendent and Supervisors.
  • Assist in the identification and development of PM plans and task lists for reoccurring work to support effective planning and safe execution.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of work management master data to support the planning and scheduling process.
  • Manage expenditure within budget levels and assist in the development of maintenance budgets.
  • Ensure development of the maintenance budget based on preventative and corrective maintenance work strategies in SAP.
  • Engage with our contactor partners and follow the MMG Contractor management Process
  • Communicate with on-site administration and ensure site entry obligations for any Contractors are met.
  • Build strong open working relationships with the Maintenance Superintendent, Supervisors and Supply Personnel to promote a proactive work environment.
  • Budget control and forecasting for PCR projects.
