Environment and Rehabilitation Advisor

MMG Rosebery:

Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia and is 100% owned by MMG Limited.

With continuous production since 1936 Rosebery mine has current potential to extend life beyond 2028.  This underground mine has continually attracted and produced world class professionals. With a strong community focus and core values including safety and integrity, we are proud of our role in community development and our economic contribution to the local Tasmanian industry.

Environment and Rehabilitation Advisor

We are currently seeking a Environment and Rehabilitation Advisor at MMG Rosebery.  Reporting to The Environment & Community Superintendent, this role is responsible for Environment, Community & Closure Planning activities with a focus on environmental aspects.   

This role is offered on a family friendly 8/6 roster as a residential role or  DIDO from within Tasmania

Competencies, qualifications and skills:

  • An unwavering commitment to workplace safety and a demonstrated expertise in establishing cultures and systems that embed safety awareness
  • Tertiary qualifications in Environmental Science or equivalent
  • C class driving licence.
  • Functional and operational understanding of the underlying deliverables
  • Demonstrated proficiency in relevant data management systems
  • Able to work in flexible teams that embrace change
  • Communication (written and verbal) including the ability to distil key messages

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Monitor and report on Environment-related licences, regulations and MMG Standards
  • Manage and review the site environmental monitoring programs which includes contractor management
  • Implement Environment, Community & Closure Planning management plans
  • Support Environment, Community & Closure Planning improvement projects and ability to understand key systems and provide support to key users
  • Manage Environment data according to site MMG Work Quality Requirements including entry into data management systems (IEM, ERIK, Borealis), verification and reporting
  • Plan and undertake additional monitoring to support Environment & Closure Planning activities
  • Preparation of periodic reports & presentations to Regulators
  • Conduct, plan and coordinate Environment, Community & Closure Planning any other activities in line with site procedures and work instructions.
