Our Supply Chain Australian Operations team based at our Melbourne Head Office is a key business support unit in the regional hub, that works closely and collaboratively with our Australian assets. The Supply Chain team is responsible for developing and executing collaborative commercial arrangements for the provision of goods and services to MMG sites, ensuring that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend. Our scope encompasses delivery of sourcing and contract management activities and site inventory.
Senior Contract Analyst
The Senior Contract Analyst ensures that MMG derives maximum value from its external spend through supporting Supply Chain Australian Operations with contract analytics, data and spend management and reporting, facilitating constructive supplier relationships, and supporting in-contract negotiations.
Reporting into the Principal – Contract Management and Supply Operations, this role is also accountable for utilisation of Contract Management frameworks to manage Monitored and Reviewed suppliers to ensure regular supplier performance review meetings and reporting metrics as per each contract, identifying and delivering commercial value and creation of additional value through continuous improvement and innovation with supply partners.
Competencies, qualifications and skills:
Tertiary qualified in a Commercial/Business discipline or Engineering.
Demonstrable experience in Supply Chain analyst roles or Contract Management related role
Strong negotiation skills with demonstrated experience in Contract & Contractor Management
Experience in developing commercial arrangements and Ability to plan, set priorities, monitor and deliver quality outcomes within the required timelines
Ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders as part of the contractor management process.
Ability to collect, analyse and present data to identify trend or gaps, and then form effective solutions for continuous improvements
Demonstrated experience in data management within IT software platforms
Competent in the use of SAP, or similar ERP system
Competent in the use of ARIBA.
Key responsibilities will include:
Support Supply Chain Australian Operations with contract analytics, data and spend management and reporting.
Facilitate review meetings and reporting of supplier performance for all Monitored and Reviewed Contracts as per Contract Management Frameworks. This includes (but not limited to) mining, drilling, site services, logistics, commodities, energy and third-party contracts.
Maintain collaborative and effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of value and drive continuous improvement.
Address any in-contract supply issues and disputes with the support of Supply Chain team and site stakeholders.
Conduct in-contract negotiations to address disputes and/or improve on contractor engagements. This includes supporting the Principal with major contract negotiations that require a coordinated effort,
In partnership with the Master Data Team, ensure the implementation and maintenance of Outline Agreements.
Develop an internal network of Supply peers and other relevant functional peers.
