PROCUREMENT SPECIALIST

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

 

The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the procurement process related to the project, including sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services. The role aims to optimise procurement activities, control costs, and maintain high standards of quality and efficiency.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Your key accountabilities include:

 

  • Developing sourcing plans; managing RFQs/RFPs, supplier selection, contract negotiation, and procurement lifecycle.
  • Fostering collaboration with contractors, internal teams, and suppliers to ensure delivery on project objectives.
  • Ensuring adherence to procurement policies, legal requirements, internal controls, and MMG-Khoemacau supply chain standards.
  • Monitoring commercial risk; implementing cost control and risk mitigation strategies aligned with budget goals.
  • Maintaining contract records, analysing procurement data, reporting budget variances, and driving cost-saving initiatives.
  • Monitoring performance, compliance, and delivery from third parties to maintain standards and timelines.
  • Executing duties within company code of conduct, SOPs, and ethical frameworks.
  • Improving procurement processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency and support project delivery.
  • Overseeing risk identification and SHEC compliance across procurement activities; promoting safety culture and enforce standards.

 

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, purchasing, supply chain management or related field.
  • Supply Chain, Logistics or Procurement certification beneficial.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in contract negotiation/admin.
