BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The IT&OT Lead will oversee the IT operations within all MMG- Khoemacau sites, ensuring the effective implementation and maintenance of technology systems. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills to manage IT infrastructure, support services, and cybersecurity measures.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- IT Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems, including servers, networks, and communication systems in collaboration with the MMG Enterprise team and Africa Regional IT Team.
- Support Services: Providing technical support and guidance to staff, ensuring minimal downtime and efficient resolution of IT issues.
- Cybersecurity: Implementing and managing cybersecurity measures to protect company data and systems from threats in collaboration with the MMG Enterprise team and Africa Regional IT Team
- Project Management: Leading IT operational projects from conception to completion, ensuring they meet business requirements and are delivered on time, within budget and in collaboration with the MMG Enterprise team and Africa Regional IT Team
- Vendor Management: Liaising with external vendors and service providers to ensure the procurement and maintenance of IT equipment and services.
- Compliance: Ensuring all IT operations comply with industry regulations and company policies in collaboration with the MMG Enterprise team and Africa Regional IT Team
- Team Leadership: Managing and mentoring the IT team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Management Diploma (MDP) or equivalent management diploma programs.
- 10+ years’ experience working in IT and OT.
- 5+ years of experience in IT management, preferably in the mining sector.
- Experience with mining-specific software and technologies
- Mining experience preferred.
