Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia and is 100% owned by MMG Limited.
With continuous production since 1936 Rosebery mine has current potential to extend life beyond 2028. This underground mine has continually attracted and produced world class professionals. The operation continues to deliver excellent operational performance and employs over 500 employees and contractors who reside in the local region.
Reporting to the Superintendent- Fixed Plant Maintenance on a day to day basis, you will provide technical support and guidance to mine maintenance and operational personnel in the maintenance, installation, replacement and improvement of electrical assets along with the integration of those assets into the mine's electrical infrastructure and ensure that the surface operations comply with Regulatory & standards requirements.
This role is offered on a 5/2, 4/3 roster residential in Rosebery or DIDO from other locations within Tasmania.
Competencies, qualifications and skills:
Demonstrated post trade qualification experience in Mining or other heavy industries.
Previous experience in a Planning/Scheduling role
Good people management skills and leadership capability
Ability to communicate with and relate to all levels of the organisation
SAP, MS Project, MS Excel and project management
Development & Coordination of day to day as well as shutdown schedule & plans
Ability to identify & manage risk
Understanding of maintenance systems and activities
Understanding of site plant and operations
Basic knowledge of legislative requirements
Key responsibilities will include:
Produce effective plans to ensure Electrical equipment & infrastructure is maintained to a standard to enable annual plan targets to be met, and the long term integrity of assets are established.
Minimise work area maintenance costs through the identification and elimination of non-value adding work process, elimination of waste and maximisation of planned work.
Understand cost drivers in both the concentrator and mine areas and seek improvement in unit cost performance, submitting and implementing cost saving ideas.
Assist in the development of the Mine and Concentrator maintenance budgets to achieve the annual Plan.
Manage expenditure to within budget levels and develop forecast of future maintenance requirements.
