Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia and is 100% owned by MMG Limited.
With continuous production since 1936 Rosebery mine has current potential to extend life beyond 2028. This underground mine has continually attracted and produced world class professionals. With a strong community focus and core values including safety and integrity, we are proud of our role in community development and our economic contribution to the local Tasmanian industry.
The operation continues to deliver excellent operational performance and employs over 500 employees and contractors who reside in the local region.
Closure & Rehabilitation Advisor
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced
Closure & Rehabilitation Advisor to join our Closure team at our Rosebery Operations.
Reporting to the Closure Study Lead, you will be responsible for development of closure studies and execution of rehabilitation projects.
The role is offered on a two-year fixed term basis, on a 5/2, 4/3 roster residential in Rosebery or DIDO from other locations within Tasmania.
Competencies, qualifications and skills:
Degree qualified Environmental Engineer, Environmental Scientist, Chemist or Geoscientist.
Operational mine site experience.
Environmental monitoring, sampling and data management experience
Knowledge of rehabilitation monitoring methodologies
Strong project management skills, with ability to coordinate contractors and consultants effectively across multiple field programs.
GIS skills would be beneficial
Key responsibilities will include:
Support the Closure Study Lead in delivering closure planning studies and developing the closure knowledge base
Support regulatory permitting submissions with development of closure plans
Development of closure cost estimates to inform life of mine planning
Rehabilitation trial planning and execution at various locations
Manage execution of progressive rehabilitation works
Manage rehabilitation monitoring programs
Installation and maintenance of monitoring equipment across the lease and facilitate the safe collection of quality monitoring data
Assistance with community and other stakeholder engagement activities associated with closure planning studies
