Supervisor - Mobile Equipment Maintenance

MMG Dugald River:

Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.

Supervisor – Mobile Equipment Maintenance

Reporting to the maintenance coordinator you will ensure all critical and non-critical HME maintenance work performed supports the site deliverable targets and is planned and executed in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Ensure planning, reliability, HSEC requirements & relevant statutory requirements are met.

This role will be based on an 8/7/7/6 day/night roster, fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane or drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of these locations who wish to DIDO.

Qualifications, skills & competencies

  • Well experience in underground mobile fleet maintenance
  • 3 year + leadership experience in leading teams of mechanical trades (diesel fitting, auto electrical & fabrication) & support staff in workshop & underground environments. 
  • Mechanical Trade qualified or tertiary Mechanical engineering qualifications
  • Understanding of Planning, Scheduling & Work Management requirements for mobile fleet using SAP or similar
  • Understanding of reliability processes & requirements for mobile fleet
  • Awareness of Australian Standards & Statutory requirements
  • Mechanical and Auto-electrical knowledge of underground mobile fleets & maintenance requirements
  • Understanding of the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Acts and Regulations

Responsibilities include

  • Create a zero harm culture through visible and felt safety leadership.
  • Leadership and development of a multi-disciplinary Mobile Maintenance Team in an engaging work environment
  • Enable the delivery of high quality and efficient mobile maintenance execution aligned to the departmental and production (customer) objectives.
  • Manage weekly scheduled maintenance, major works and unscheduled maintenance activities.
  • Dedicated focus on adherence to the MMG Work Management processes and monitoring of work management responsibilities for both self and team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and cost awareness.
  • Support effective internal and external stakeholder relationships to enable best for business outcomes.

Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package, annual bonus and generous local allowances.
