Leading Hand - Mobile Maintenance **MULTIPLE ROLES AVAILABLE**

MMG Dugald River mine:

Dugald River is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017. The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition. Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.  

Leading hand – Mobile Maintenance (Dugald River Mine)

Reporting to the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you will support the delivery of safety and productions targets of MMG Dugald River Mine by providing leadership, coaching, mentoring to all operational maintenance teams in achieving operational consistency on all of our mobile underground and surface assets.

This role is a ‘hands on’ leadership role and will be based on an 8/6 and 7/7 (Days and Nights) roster on a DIDO from Cloncurry and Mt Isa districts or FIFO from Townsville. 

Qualifications, skills & competencies

  • Demonstrated safety leadership
  • Solid diagnostic skills on underground mobile equipment
  • Solid mechanical/electrical knowledge of underground mobile fleets & maintenance requirements
  • Mechanical Trade qualified.
  • Understanding of Planning, Scheduling & Work Management requirements for mobile fleet
  • Understanding of reliability processes & requirements for mobile fleet
  • Awareness of requirements under the Queensland Mining and Quarrying Acts and Regulations
  • Experience in leading teams of trades (mechanical, electrical & fabrication), trade assistents & support staff in workshop & field environments
  • Experience using SAP
  • Current S1,2,3 supervisor competencies (highly desirable)

Responsibilities include

  • Assist the Supervisor to provide supervision and guidance to the Mobile Maintenance teams in both surface and underground environments.
  • Perform safe efficient execution of scheduled and unscheduled (breakdown) maintenance activities under the guidance of the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor and in line with MMG Standards.
  • Support the Supervisor with maintenance documentation workflow and urgent parts management.
  • Supervision of Mobile Maintenance teams in the absence of the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor
  • Ensure work teams are adhering to company standards, procedures and policies.
  • Ensure the work teams are adhering to a Mobile Maintenance Planning & Scheduling Framework for delivery of maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the work teams are adhering to a Mobile Maintenance Reliability Framework for delivery of maintenance reliability activities.
