Team Leader - Electrical

Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017. 

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition. 

Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.   

Team Leader – Electrical

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, as the Team Leader, you will provide guidance and relief supervision to the DRM Asset Maintenance Electrical team, ensuring compliance and safety for fixed plant and operational assets. You will ensure the reliability and safe operation of assets while driving productivity to reach critical targets.

Skills: 

  • Ability to perform scoping, installation, servicing, overhauls, and complete commissioning documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, RCA when necessary.
  • Ability to read and comprehend service manuals and maintenance requirements of plant and equipment.
  • Sound knowledge of SAP.
  • Sound knowledge Grinding and Flotation process.
  • Understanding of ISA mills, Larox Filter press operations and Paste Plant repair methodology.
  • Demonstrated experience in parts and material management.

Necessary:

  • Electrical trade qualification & Instrumentation qualification
  • Current Queensland Electrical license
  • S1, S2, S3
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, & Project
  • HV Switching
  • Current C Class Licence
  • SCADA & PLC experience
  • Use of process calibrators (Beamex & Emerson

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Participate in the delivery of key safety / operational targets and ensure statutory compliance in maintaining fixed infrastructure whist providing a safe working culture.
  • Adherence to the MMG Process Framework; A2D Processes and key focus areas of:
    • Maintenance Notification creation and work scoping
    • Work Completion and Follow-up
    • Job Confirmation
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement through our change management process while motivating fellow team members to increase productivity and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
  • As required, he/she will attend/lead meetings and actively participate by offering suggestions and answering questions put to him/her without withholding information.
  • Maintain and promote a clean working environment, free from hazards and aligning to the MMG conduct and values.
  • At times you may be expected to perform reasonable additional duties that are related to your role but are not specified in your position description as directed by your supervisor.

Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package, annual bonus and generous local allowances for employees living in the local community of Cloncurry and Mt Isa.
