Graduate Mining Engineers – MMG Rosebery

About the Program
We are seeking highly motivated Graduate Mining Engineers to join our technical services team as part of MMG’s renowned Graduate/Early Career Program. This role is designed for graduates who want to accelerate their development through hands‑on underground experience, structured learning, mentorship, and exposure to real operational decision‑making.
As a Graduate Mining Engineer at MMG Rosebery, you will rotate through key mining engineering areas including:
- Production engineering – daily execution, stope performance, drill & blast, charging, and firing coordination.
- Short-term planning – creating weekly schedules, designing development headings, and reviewing operational progress.
- Drill & Blast engineering – explosives management, pattern design, QA/QC, and blast performance optimisation.
- Mine design & scheduling – exposure to Deswik, mine design principles, and long‑term planning fundamentals.
- Underground field engagement – regular time in the mine verifying ground conditions, inspecting headings, and supporting operational teams.
- Technical data management – learning systems such as PitRAM, Deswik, and other mining software platforms.
This role is well suited to driven graduates who want responsibility early, enjoy solving practical problems underground, and want to build a strong foundation toward Production Engineer or Short-Term Planning roles.

Who We’re Looking For
We invite applications from students who:
- Are completing a Mining Engineering degree (or other relevant Engineering degree) (graduating end of 2025/early 2026) OR have graduated within the past two years.
- Have strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and a passion for underground mining.
- Enjoy working collaboratively with operators, engineers, and operational leaders.
- Are curious, self‑driven, and eager to learn in a fast‑paced mining environment.
- Have full working rights in Australia.
Experience in vacation programs, underground work environments, or exposure to mine software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, etc.) will be highly regarded but is not essential.
