Graduate Communications Advisor
Reporting to the Stakeholder Relations and Communications, this role will see you support communications for our Australian operations (Rosebery and Dugald River) to ensure the development of content that creates a positive impression of our Australian sites with our internal and external stakeholders.
The role also supports the site teams with the development and roll-out of communication activities
Based in our Melbourne Office working a 5:2 roster. This role may also require regular travel to our Australian Mining Operations as required.
Responsibilities Include (however not limited to):
- Assist with the development and roll-out of the site internal communications plan. Undertake regular evaluation/measurement and recommend best practice processes and ideas.
- Assist with sharing Dugald River and Rosebery’s narrative across digital channels (social media, website and intranet) including planning, content sourcing/writing and monitoring. Must work closely with senior leaders to ensure a timely pipeline of interesting news and information.
- Support the communication plan for Dugald and Rosebery
- Coordinate the production of quarterly site employee news to ensure the achievements of the sites are being well communicated internally.
- Coordinate BAU communication activities and campaigns including the development of written and visual materials. Provide support to the Site General Managers with internal announcements.
- Ensure we work closely with the China Relations team to highlight key achievements from our Australian sites to our major shareholder to publish on WeChat.
- Develop PowerPoint presentations, flyers, brochures, newsletters, factsheets, photoshoots and videos as required.
- Assist with responses to media enquiries as required.
- Champion the MMG brand and ensure it is presented in line with the MMG style guide.
- Contributor to key projects that require communications support.
- Work on projects and perform other duties as reasonably directed
About You
- Degree in communications, journalism or public relations
- Undergraduate qualifications in communications, graphic design or public relations or a related field is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail including proof reading skills.
- Graphic design capabilities including highly proficient with MS Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and social media channels.
- Project management skills including ability to deliver to tight deadlines
- Ability to engage and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Best practice for social media and website management including issues management and measurement.
- An unwavering commitment to safe work practices with demonstrate safe behaviour at all times and comply with the site’s standards and procedures.
- A manual C Class driver’s license
- Ability to pass a Police Clearance, Pre employment Medical and DAS.
