Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.
Mine Control Operator- Part time opportunity
Reporting to the Superintendent – Mine Technical Services, this role will be responsible for the accurate and timely collection of data management for all mine operations in a timely, safe and efficient manner and in accordance with Company site requirements.
This role will be based on an 8/20 roster nights and days with potential for additional shifts as required by the business., drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville.
Key accountabilities include:
- Displaying an unwavering commitment to safe work practices
- Timely and clear radio communications
- Recording all physical activities
- Clear and professional communication with all stakeholders
- Assisting the Mines Emergency Coordinator during mock and actual mine emergency
- Liaise and provide real time situational reports to the underground shift supervisors
- The ability to effectively evaluate and prioritise all tasks in accordance to Mine requirements
- Other miscellaneous administrative duties as required
Qualifications and Skills required:
- Analytical in your approach and self-motivated
- Calm under pressure in a busy environment and able to make decisions quickly
- Confident multi-tasker and meticulous attention to detail
- A strong clear and concise communicator
- Proficient in the operations of the Pitram System including DOME.
- SAP and IEM experience
- Possess the ability to work as part of a team
- Intermediate to advanced MS Office computer skills
- Knowledge of underground mine operations
