Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 800 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis. The village provides all the amenities including a gym, with a women’s only area, a tennis court, swimming pool, walking track and entertainment area.
Superintendent- Mobile Maintenance
Reporting to the Manager-Maintenance & Engineering, this role is responsible to manage the mobile equipment maintenance department at Dugald as well as manage Heavy & light equipment fleet maintenance activities to ensure key KPI’s targets, budgetary, HSEC requirements & relevant statutory requirements are met.
This role will be based on an 8/6, 4/3, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mt Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane. Relocation support will be available for successful candidates who reside outside of these locations.
Qualifications, skills & competencies
- Mechanical or Electrical Trade qualified or relevant engineering qualifications.
- Proven budget and finance management skills.
- Strong understanding of planning, scheduling, and maintenance for mobile fleets.
- Knowledge of Australian Standards and Queensland Mining and Quarrying regulations.
- Experience leading teams in workshop and field environments.
- Demonstrated leadership in team development and performance management.
- Proficient in SAP for Mobile Maintenance Management.
Responsibilities include -
- Develop and implement Mobile Maintenance Management, Planning & Scheduling, and Reliability Frameworks.
- Manage capital machine purchase projects, including budgeting, design, and installation.
- Oversee resource selection for mobile maintenance activities and monitor KPI performance.
- Champion onboard Equipment Monitoring systems and provide training for personnel.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and engineering standards in mobile maintenance.
- Maintain company standards, procedures, and policies while monitoring the Management of Change process.
