With continuous production since 1936 Rosebery mine has current potential to extend life beyond 2028.  This underground mine has continually attracted and produced world class professionals. The operation continues to deliver excellent operational performance and employs over 500 employees and contractors who reside in the local region.

Business Improvement Analyst

We have an exciting opportunity within the Business Improvement Department for an enthusiastic and driven person who is looking to take the next step in their career at Rosebery Mine in the role as a Business Improvement Analyst.

Reporting to the Superintendent Business Planning, you will be responsible for supporting the Operations at Rosebery by driving digital reporting initiatives and improvement projects. Developing and maintaining site reporting solutions using PowerBI and other platforms, coordinating the annual value optimisation program, and facilitating improvement projects across multiple departments.

This role will see you coordinate across multiple departments, including mining, processing, and the technical services team, to facilitate productivity and cost improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

Preference is for this role to be based at our Burnie office on the scenic NW Coast of Tasmania on a 5:2 / 4:3 roster however consideration will also be given to candidates based in Melbourne working from our Head Office on a 5:2 roster with frequent travel to Rosebery Mine

 Key responsibilities (however not limited to):

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain site digital reporting solutions using PowerBI and other reporting platforms.
  • Coordinate the annual value optimisation program by compiling and reporting on departmental initiatives.
  • Develop and manage plans for site Operations improvement projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Prepare and deliver regular progress reports on improvement initiatives to key stakeholders.
  • Integrate projected improvement outcomes into MMG’s Integrated Business Planning process.
  • Lead, facilitate, and support improvement projects in collaboration with relevant department leaders.
  • Provide analytical and strategic support to the Business Improvement department.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols within the mining environment.
  • Demonstrate behaviours that are aligned with the MMG Values and Code of Conduct at all times.

About You

  • Degree qualified (Bachelor’s/Honours degree or equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline
  • Understanding of mining and processing control systems, including their impact on operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with business improvement principles, cost optimization, and productivity initiatives.
  • Proven ability in reporting and data display and analytics using PowerBI, Excel, SQL databases and other similar tools.
  • Ability to determine the needs and requirements of various stakeholders and apply operational and customer-centric approach to decision making.
  • Experience in reviewing and implementing changes in mining and processing control systems.
  • Strong problem resolution, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to build strong relationships.
