MMG Rosebery Mine is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in the west coast of Tasmania, Australia. It has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 workers and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
Underground Operators
We are currently recruiting two vacancies within our Underground Operation for a Charge Up Operator and Service Crew personnel. These roles report to the applicable Shift Supervisor and the accountabilities will include specific tasks related to your area of operation.

This role is offered on 7 Days on 7 Days off Day Shift on a DIDO basis.
Please note the roles will be situated on the following teams:
Charge Up Operator - Team 1
Service Crew - Team 2
Skills and Experience
To be considered for this role you will have minimum of 3 Years’ experience in underground mining, with a strong emphasis in a mechanised underground mining operation techniques and experience on the equipment and tasks listed above. You will be able to demonstrate problem solving skills in a team environment.
As a team member you will have the ability to communicate clearly and conduct detailed handovers with supervisors, cross shift and other relevant departments. You will also have a basic understanding of mining targets & priority projects to ensure targets are met. You will be expected to work both alone and in a team environment with Safety and the wellbeing of others your number one priority.
About You:
- Shotfirers licence – Underground
- Experience with working in production and development crews or operating in this environment (i.e. stope drilling, charging).
- Interpret plans and record explosives usage
- Experience in conducting the blast and post-blast activities
- Complete thorough re-entries
- Stock control
- Complete and carry out comprehensive and detailed end-of-shift communications
- Extensive knowledge of safe work practices and techniques applied in underground mining.
- A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen and Background checks.
- Extensive knowledge off underground mining equipment and techniques.
- A manual C Class driver’s license.
- First aid certificate – desirable.
