Key Accountabilities
The responsibilities of the Mine Improvement Superintendent include always demonstrating safe behaviour and complying with site Safety, Health, and Environmental standards. This includes improving operational and technical procedures, establishing continuous improvement systems, and coaching the team on safety, volume and costs. The superintendent works with the operational and technical teams and contractors to improve the performance of the mining operation. He manages and monitors improvement projects for the Kinsevere operation, focusing on workforce engagement. In addition, he ensures the implementation and maintenance of the Ground Control Management Plan, in compliance with legislation and industry best practice. Finally, he coaches and trains national seniors, supervisors and superintendents through formal and informal feedback sessions.

Knowledge
- Working knowledge of continuous improvement/business principles and methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean principles, KT, TQM, etc.);
- Knowledge of geotechnical obligations under regulations and business requirements.
- Personnel management.
Experience
- At least 3 years' experience in operational or technical leadership.
- At least 3 years’ experience in mine improvement support.
- At least 10 years cumulative experience in mining or geotechnical engineering roles in an open pit metal mining environment.
Qualifications
- University degree in mining or geotechnical engineering.
- Membership of a recognised engineering association (AusIMM/SANIRE/EAGCG/ISRM)
