This role will lead 2 existing teams and manage below:
- Financial Reporting & Month-End Closing:
- Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements.
- Ensure compliance with MMG Accounting Standards, WQR and regulatory requirements.
- Lead the month-end closing process, including physicals and financials.
- Coordinate with auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
- Financial Analysis & Business Insights:
- Provide financial insights to support executive decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and track financial performance against target.
- Support cost control initiatives and efficiency improvement strategies.
- Present financial results and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and manage the Mid-Year Forecast and Annual Budget process in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Prepare and update financial forecasts based on business trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Utilise mine plans and cost drivers to develop realistic financial projections.
- Incorporate production schedules, capital expenditures, and operational costs into budget planning.
- Analyse variance between actual performance and budget/forecast, providing insights and recommendations.
- Support scenario planning and strategic financial modelling to guide business decisions.
- Process Improvement & Systems Management:
- Enhance financial reporting processes and systems to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Implement best practices in physical reporting, month-end reporting, and data analysis.
- Work closely with IT, GBS and Group Finance to optimise financial reporting tools, systems, and processes.
- Ensure data integrity and compliance with internal controls.
