MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- Identify Inspecting lifting equipment, rigging gear, and tools prior to use and removing defective equipment from service.
- Planning and executing lifting and rigging operations in accordance with approved lift plans, risk assessments, and statutory requirements.
- Selecting, inspecting, and correctly using appropriate lifting equipment and rigging configurations for assigned tasks.
- Guiding and signalling crane operators to ensure safe and controlled lifting operations.
- Ensuring compliance with approved drawings, specifications, lift plans, and manufacturer requirements.
- Completing job cards, inspection records, and lifting documentation accurately and timeously.
- Complying with all applicable legal requirements, company policies, procedures, and the Code of Conduct.
- Inspecting lifting equipment, rigging gear, and tools prior to use and removing defective equipment from service.
- Identifying unsafe conditions and behaviours during lifting and rigging activities and implementing preventative and corrective measures.
- Providing on-the-job guidance and coaching to assistants and junior personnel involved in rigging and lifting activities.
- Interfacing with maintenance, operations, engineering, and other departments to coordinate lifting activities and minimise operational disruptions.
- Ensuring work is executed in line with planned schedules, quality standards, and operational requirements.
