Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.
The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.
Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.
Senior Engineer – Reliability
This role is a leadership role requiring a strong mining industry background, sound engineering judgement, and the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders, and drive measurable improvement in asset performance, safety, and cost. Ensuring that asset performance is monitored, improved and is consistently available to meet the operational plan requirements. Stewardship over site standards and compliance relevant to the role and plant/equipment managed.
This role will be based on an 8/6:4/3 roster, drive in drive out (DIDO) from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or fly in fly out (FIFO) from Townsville or Brisbane preferred.
Qualifications, Competencies & knowledge:
- Engineering qualification – RPEQ (Mechanical, Electrical and/or Asset Management) preferred
- Reliability competencies with demonstrated ability
- Condition Monitoring experience provide details
- Working at heights and confined spaces tickets
- Current Queensland “C” class Driver’s License
- S1,2 and 3 or equivalent
- Microsoft Suite
- CAD software and experience
Key responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrate safe behaviour while ensuring your team promote and follow company Values in everything they do while following MMG safety procedures and Systems
- Apply duty of care as per Qld Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act and Regulation
- Ensure maintenance strategies for critical equipment exist and OEM requirements are considered in both content and frequency of execution
- Use data and reliability processes to focus improvement effort in achieving optimal health through availability of plant and equipment across both surface and underground operations including Mobile equipment classes, Comminution through Crushing, Milling, Flotation Filtering and all subsidiary equipment type established on a mineral processing site
- Work collaboratively with the mechanical and electrical maintenance and engineering teams while supporting operations strategic direction
- Create and maintain process/system to identify and prioritise actions for the Top 5 reoccurring equipment defects
- Delivering audits
