Responsibilities:
- Perform and support month-end and year-end close tasks—including journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting deliverables—by liaising and coordinating with Group Finance and site Commercial teams, ensuring outputs are delivered in line with agreed service level commitments and MMG standards
- Maintain financial master data—including the fixed asset register and GL master data—by ensuring accurate creation, updates, and validations in SAP, supporting correct accounting treatment, depreciation, asset movements, and alignment with Group Finance and Commercial requirements.
- Prepare monthly and quarterly reports as required for internal and external reporting, ensuring all submissions align with MMG standards and reporting requirements.
- Assist in coordinating internal and external audit processes, support compliance and governance requirements, and contribute to the preparation of consolidated financial statement reporting in line with MMG policies and standards.
- Preparing balance sheet analytics and movement analysis for stewardship review supporting transparency, performance monitoring, and internal decision-making.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, strengthen controls, and improve the quality and consistency of services delivered to stakeholders.

Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles (IFRS), financial reporting standards, tax regulations, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting requirements in countries such as Australia, Lao, DRC, Peru, Hong Kong and other regions.
- Proficiency in reconciliations, month-end/year-end closing process.
- Familiarity with mining and corporate accounting, including cost allocation, asset accounting, inventory valuation, revenue recognition, intercompany transactions, and group charge processes in a global business setting.
- Understanding of internal controls, compliance frameworks, and audit requirements.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in finance, accounting, or tax roles, preferably within a shared services or mining environment.
- SAP ERP advanced.
- Advanced skills on MS Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to apply sound judgement, resolve issues independently, and work under tight deadlines.
- Track record of delivering high-quality outcomes in customer-focused and cross-functional settings.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Qualified CA/CPA qualification (or global equivalent).
