Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.
The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.
Occupational Health Nurse - Parental leave cover (potential to extend)
Join our team at Rosebery Mine, reporting to the Senior Coordinator – Occupational Health. You’ll lead site health and hygiene services, delivering frontline care and supporting workforce health, safety, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide initial assessment and treatment for workplace and non-workplace medical cases
- Manage injury care, rehabilitation, and return-to-work programs
- Conduct health monitoring, fitness for work, and drug & alcohol testing
- Maintain accurate records, reporting, and medical facilities
- Support occupational hygiene, risk management, and health surveillance
- Liaise with external medical and allied health providers
About You
- Registered Nurse (AHPRA) with 2+ years’ experience (ED, ward, or similar)
- Strong clinical assessment and injury management skills
- Experience with health monitoring (spirometry, audiometry, etc.)
- ALS, drug & alcohol testing, or occupational hygiene quals (desirable)
- Confident communicator with a strong safety focus
- Current C Class driver’s licence
