MMG’s new mining operation, Dugald River, is a world-class zinc-lead-silver deposit located in north-west Queensland. We currently have a fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced Geology Technician to join our Geology team at Dugald River Mine.

Geology Technician

Reporting to the Senior Geology Technician, this role will see you provide logistic and administrative support to the geology team and contribute to the successful completion of the surface and underground drilling programs through accurate processing of drill core.

 

This role incorporates correct drill core mark up, orientation, cutting and sampling procedures, preparation and rehabilitation of surface drill pads as well as underground photography of development faces using Adamtech technology.

 

This role is based on an 8/6 Dayshift roster with night shift as required, drive in drive out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa. Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package, annual bonus and generous local allowances.

Qualifications Skills and Competencies:

To be successful in this role, you will have a positive attitude, high levels of motivation and a commitment to safe work practices. Essential to this will be a current manual drivers’ licence, and a minimum of 1 year mining or exploration experience. Previous underground experience will be advantageous
