MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
· Supervising the installation and maintenance of all electrical units and components
· Monitoring operational effectiveness of electrical plant facilities.
· Regulating the utilization of resources within designated area of responsibility to ensure achievement of equipment availability targets
· Determining schedules, assigning work and managing the performance of assigned personnel to ensure the achievement of equipment availability targets.
· Evaluating team effectiveness as well as the training and development of subordinates;
· Inspecting work undertaken by artisan for completeness and compliance with mine requirements and taking appropriate corrective action;
· Implementing effective cost control measures and ensuring that expenditure is within budget;
· Allocating labour resources and equipment to scheduled and priority activities to maintain and ensure high levels of labour, equipment and operational performance standards;
· Prioritising work to be undertaken, taking into account critical nature of faults found and impact of faults on operations, in conjunction with Maintenance Planner, Electrical Engineer and other colleagues.
· Will coordinate and lead HV and LV plant isolations in accordance with legal provisions.
· Enforcing mine safety standards and legal compliance as per MQWM; ensuring adherence to MMG policies and procedures
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
· National Craft Certificate in Electrical & Electronics or recognised National Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
· A minimum of 8 years post qualification, with at least 5 years as Electrical Foreman in a heavy mining process plant electrical maintenance environment;
· Knowledge of MQW&M; and proven record of competency in LOTO.
· Knowledge of installation and operation of electrical systems.
