Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.
The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.
It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.
The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.
MMG Rosebery has an office in Burnie (Tasmania), giving employees the flexibility to work from there when they are not required onsite.
HR - Business Partner
At our Rosebery Mine operation, people are at the heart of everything we do. We're looking for an energetic, approachable, and proactive HR - Business Partner to join our team and play a key role in shaping the employee experience across the site.
This is an opportunity to step into a true generalist HR role where no two days are the same. You'll work closely with leaders and employees across the business, providing practical HR support, building strong relationships, and helping drive a positive, high-performing workplace culture.
What You'll Be Doing
As our HR - Business Partner, you'll partner with leaders and employees to deliver professional and people-focused HR support across the employee lifecycle, including, but not limited to:
- Employee Relations and workplace advice
- Performance management and coaching support
- Recruitment, onboarding and workforce planning activities
- Payroll administration support and employee queries
- Policy interpretation and procedural guidance
You'll be a trusted point of contact for employees and leaders alike, helping navigate day-to-day people matters while ensuring a high standard of service and professionalism.
About you
- Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline (preferred).
- Current Australian Open Driver's Licence.
- Experience in a Human Resources Advisor, HR Coordinator, HR Business Partner, or similar generalist HR role within a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in mining, resources, construction, manufacturing, or other operational industries will be highly regarded.
- Exposure to workforce planning, employee engagement, HR projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective relationships across all levels of the business.
- Working knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Enterprise Agreements, Modern Awards, and HR policies.
- Experience using HRIS, recruitment, and payroll systems such as SAP, PageUp, SuccessFactors, or similar platforms.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
