Team Leader - Electrical

Dugald River mine is one of the world’s top 10 Zinc mine operations, which has been producing zinc concentrate for customers around the world since 2017.  

The mine is committed to a low-carbon future. In April 2023 the Dugald River Solar Farm began operations, supplying a third of the mine’s power, and reducing emissions by 33% and this is just the start of its renewable energy transition.  

Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.  

Team Leader - Electrical 

We currently have a fantastic career opportunity available for an experienced Team Leader - Electrical to join our Maintenance team at Dugald River Mine.  

Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, you shall provide relief supervision and guidance to the DRM Asset Maintenance Electrical team encompassing all fixed plant and operation assets. Duties are to ensure statutory compliance in maintaining fixed infrastructure whist providing a safe working culture. The reliability and safe operation of assets are integral to this position, daily and weekly targets are to be measured against, with production targets as critical KPI’s. 

This role is based on an 8/7 DS, 7/6 NS roster, bus in bus out from Cloncurry or Mount Isa or FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane. 

Qualifications, skills & Experience 

• Electrical trade qualification & Instrumentation qualification 

• Current Queensland Electrical license 

• S1, S2, S3 

• Competent in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, & Project 

• HV Switching 

• Current C Class Licence 

• SCADA & PLC experience 

 Responsibilities include 

• Participate in the delivery of key safety / operational targets 

• Ensure scheduled planned electrical activities for all equipment is both appropriate and completed so that the downtime is minimized, and MMG Dugald River mine operational requirements are met without delay to planned production schedules 

• Identify and deliver continuous improvement through our change management process. 

• Motivate fellow team members to increase productivity and ensure proper maintenance of equipment. 

• Ensure statutory compliance in maintaining fixed infrastructure whist providing a safe working culture 

• Promote safety excellence in Maintenance teams

Remuneration for this role includes a competitive salary package, annual bonus and generous local allowances for employees living in the local community of Cloncurry and Mt Isa.
