PROCESS ENGINEER

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Processing Engineer will be responsible for developing, optimizing, and overseeing the processes involved in the extraction and processing of minerals. This role focuses on improving processing efficiency and recovery of valuable minerals, safety, and environmental sustainability while ensuring the quality and profitability of concentrator operations.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

• Developing, Designing and implementing efficient mineral processing techniques to maximize recovery rates and product quality.
• Continuously evaluating and optimising existing processes to improve efficiency, reducing costs and enhancing safety and environmental performance.
• Conducting technical analysis and simulations to identify process improvements and troubleshooting operational issues.
• Leading and supporting projects related to process improvements, ensuring timely completion and alignment with budgetary and quality standards.
• Working closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and safety, to implement process changes and ensuring seamless integration
• Ensuring all processing activities comply with relevant safety, environmental, and quality standards and regulations.
• Preparing and presenting detailed reports on process performance, improvements, and project outcomes for submission to management and stakeholders.
• Developing and preparing the requirements and scope of work for external Consultants.
• Reviewing the deliverables from the Contractors/Consultants and developing optimized process solutions.
• Reviewing and developing the commissioning plan  related technical documents for processing plant.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Mineral Processing, or a related field
• Minimum of 6 years experience in processing engineering within the mining or mineral processing industry
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis and process simulation tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to mineral processing and mining operations
