Cadet - Processing
If you enjoy being outdoors, learning and utilising your physical fitness, this is a fantastic career opportunity to solidify a career in mining on a 12-month fixed term contract.
Reporting to the Supervisor - Processing, your responsibilities will include learning how to operate processing plant equipment in a safe, productive, and efficient manner to maximise plant performance without negatively affecting the environment or the health and safety of personnel.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support site safety initiatives.
- Contribute positively and actively to promote the MMG Roseberry values and behaviours.
- Maintain constant surveillance of assigned work stations to ensure effective and efficient operations of the plant in a safe manner.
- Complete shift log sheets and record all daily variances.
- Complete area inspection and report conditions.
- Conduct clean-up duties where required to ensure plant equipment is functioning properly and safely.
- Ensure hazards and sources of loss associated with the process are identified, evaluated and controlled and comply with the company and sites safety standards and procedures at all times
Qualifications & Competencies
To be successful, you will have an unwavering commitment to safe work practices, and MUST be able to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen, along with the following:
- Living in Tasmania - with a preference in the North West region
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal with a keen motivation for learning
- Drivers licence.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, time management and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively and cooperate within a team
- Basic computer literacy and the use of Microsoft Office Suite
- A proven history with safe work practises, with the ability to identify and address unsafe practices.
