Dugald River employs around 750 employees and contractors on a mix of fly-in, fly-out and local residential basis.

Supervisor – Mining

This is a rare and unique opportunity to join the site leadership of a global mining organisation with a vision for ambitious growth and an enviable record of community engagement, sustainability and safety.

Reporting to the Superintendent - Mining, the Supervisor – Backfill & Construction will oversee underground paste fill activities, paste reticulation maintenance, and project construction, ensuring safe and efficient execution.

This role is offered on an 8/6 roster FIFO from Townsville or Brisbane and DIDO/BIBO from Cloncurry & Mt.Isa.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan daily backfill and construction activities to meet targets.
• Ensure underground paste fill, paste reticulation maintenance, stop log and ventilation system work comply with relevant procedures and standards.
• Ensure all tasks are executed safely, following site instructions and risk management processes.
• Conduct regular inspections of underground and surface work areas, addressing hazards to maintain safe conditions.
• Coordinate with other teams to ensure backfill and construction activities align with the mining schedule.
• Follow escalation protocols for incidents and equipment failures.

About You

To be considered, your skills should include:

• Experience working in and supervising underground backfill and construction activities including paste reticulation, and mine ventilation systems.
• Proven supervisory experience in an underground mining environment, with a track record of leading teams to safely meet production targets.
• Experience applying risk management processes, safety procedures, and escalation protocols in a high-risk environment.
•  G1 G8 G9 (Formally S1 S2 S3).
• Certificate IV in Surface/Underground Operations or equivalent.
• Valid manual drivers licence.
• Senior First Aid.
• Queensland Explosives Security Clearance or ability to obtain one.
