ARTISAN ASSISTANT - HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Artisan Assistant - Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for assisting Heavy Vehicle Mechanic in maintaining and repairing mining trucks and equipment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- Assisting in servicing and repairs of heavy mining vehicles.
- Carrying tools and equipment for mechanics.
- Following safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensuring cleanliness and organization of the workshop.
- Performing minor mechanical tasks under supervision.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
- Trade Test B Certificate in Heavy Plant Mechanics/ basic training in Mechanical Engineering or relevant qualification.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in mechanical support role.
- Experience in mining industry is preferred.
