MINE SURVEY ASSISTANT
BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:
The Mine Survey Assistant will be responsible for providing technical and operational support to the Mine Survey Department in carrying out surveying activities required for safe, efficient, and compliant open pit mining operations. The role will be assisting with the establishment and maintenance of survey control, mine set-out, production surveys, stockpile measurements, topographic surveys, and the collection of accurate field data to support mine planning and operational decision-making.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Your key accountabilities include:
- Assisting the Mine Surveyor in carrying out daily survey activities, including mine set-out, topographic surveys, production surveys, and as-built surveys.
- Assisting in establishing, maintaining, and protecting survey control points throughout the mining operation.
- Preparing survey equipment before fieldwork and ensure that all equipment is clean, secure, and functioning correctly.
- Assisting with routine inspections, calibration checks, battery management, transportation, and safe storage of survey instruments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:
- Minimum of Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE).
- Certificate in Surveying or related qualification.
- Mining of 1 year general mine environment working experience
- Previous exposure to surveying in mining, construction, or civil engineering is advantageous.
- Practical experience with total stations, GNSS equipment, or digital levels will be an added advantage

The Metallurgical Laboratory Technician will be responsible for providing reliable laboratory and sampling support to the Metallurgy Section of the Process Plant. The role will be supporting process monitoring, metallurgical test work, plant surveys, sampling, quality assurance and metallurgical accounting by generating accurate, timely and traceable laboratory data to support safe, stable and efficient plant performance.
