Shift Supervisor

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION:

The Shift Supervisor will be responsible for supervising Plant Operators and monitoring production activities within the plant section to ensure a safe work environment and achievement of target through put for the shift.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Your key accountabilities include:

• Performing daily equipment walk around and work area inspections to identify, minimize and correct safety hazards and keep equipment properly maintained.
• Conducting general inspections and operation of area of responsibility as per standard procedures.
• Monitoring product flow and reporting quality anomalies to the Foreman in the assigned area.
• Completing relevant log sheets. 
• Closing and signing off at the end of the shift and handing over to the Foreman.
• Scheduling of work to be undertaken daily and assigning tasks to team members, specifying procedures to be followed and time frames.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE:

• Minimum of Botswana General Certificate of Secondary Education (BGCSE).
• Minimum of 4 years of experience working on Mineral Processing plants.
• Minimum of 2 years at Supervisor level in a Concentrator plant or similar processing plant.  
• Plant Training i.e., Basic knowledge of base metal processing.
• Knowledge of Safety and Health standard operating procedures.
