MMG Rosebery

Rosebery is an underground polymetallic base metal mine located in the township of Rosebery in Tasmania, Australia. The mine is a deep, sub-level open stoping operation with complex mining conditions.

The Rosebery Mine has been at the heart of the Rosebery community since 1936 and is one of Tasmania’s largest and oldest continuously operating, underground mines producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates, as well as gold doré.

It supports approximately 500 employees and their families, has a strong community focus and engages a wide range of local businesses from across Tasmania in its supply chain boosting the economy of the West Coast of Tasmania and beyond.

The mine has a strong future, with extensive exploration activities which have continued to grow the resource and require mine planning beyond 10 years of continued operation.

Closure Project Lead

MMG Rosebery is seeking a Closure Project Lead to drive the delivery of critical closure studies and projects that support the long-term sustainability of our operations. Reporting to the Senior Long Term Environmental Planner, you will manage closure studies from scoping through to feasibility, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and consultants to deliver high-quality outcomes safely, on time, and within budget.

What you'll be doing:

• Lead closure and rehabilitation studies through key project phases
• Manage consultants, budgets, schedules and project deliverables
• Identify risks, opportunities and value drivers
• Develop scopes of work and support budget approvals
• Engage with internal stakeholders, regulators and technical specialists
• Contribute to MMG's environmental and closure strategy

What you'll bring:

• Experience in project or study management within mining, environmental, rehabilitation or closure disciplines
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Ability to analyse technical, environmental and financial information
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in environmental science, engineering, geology or a related discipline (desirable)
• A passion for delivering sustainable outcomes in the resources sector
