Training Advisor

Reporting to The Training Coordinator, the key focus of this role is to support the design, development and delivery of training programs at Rosebery. To build skills and competencies of Surface Operations personnel to safely and effectively perform the tasks associated with their roles.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in an end to end training role that; identifies training needs, sources best-practice training resources to match those needs, deliver the training, assess competency and record data.

This role is offered on an 5/2 4/3 residential roster in Rosebery or DIDO.

Qualifications, skills & competencies

  • Deep understanding of Learning Management System (LMS) requirements
  • Working knowledge of the current national and state training and qualification standards
  • Working knowledge of the relevant national and state mining acts and regulations
  • Working knowledge of Training & Assessment methods & techniques to AQTF standards
  • Proven competency in, or demonstrable understanding of the Processing Plant Operations and ancillary equipment. Including but not limited to Crushing, Grinding, Flotation, Filtration and Maintenance.
  • Desired, Minimum 5 years’ experience working in training and related roles in Metalliferous mines,
  • Experience in the preparation and facilitation of units of competency being assessed or delivered in accordance with the national industry training package assessment guidelines
  • Demonstrate a high level of facilitation/presentation skills as well as flexibility in coaching and training techniques
  • Effective relationship-building and collaborative skills
  • Hazard identification
  • Cert IV Training & Assessing TAE 40116 or Higher
  • Australian manual drivers licence.
  • Proficient with MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint

Responsibilities include

  • Provide training, assessment and verification of competency (VOC) services to surface operations personnel (employees and contractors), including Operations, Maintenance and other areas as required.
  • Assist external training providers with the setup of training facilities.
  • Assist in the onboarding and verification of competencies of shutdown and project workers.
  • Maintain an up-to-date Training Needs Analysis and skills matrix for personnel associated with surface operations.
  • Design, maintain and deliver inductions and onboarding programs to support Surface operations, as well as assisting in the facilitation of general surface inductions and onboarding.
  • Facilitate the collection and storage of accurate training and assessment records within the approved MMG Learning Management Systems
  • Assist in the development and maintain in the LMS approved procedures and work instructions relating to surface operations as required.
  • Assist with the development and/or revision of training, assessment, VOC and onboarding packages and resources relating to surface operations to ensure regular training schedules
  • Facilitate continuous improvement by recognising and reporting gaps and deficiencies in the training systems or tools and assist with remedial actions

BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION: The Materials Clerk will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support for materials management activities, including the accurate recording, filing, and tracking of material movements, stock levels, and documentation to ensure smooth and efficient warehouse and inventory operations.
