BASIC FUNCTION OF THE POSITION

The QA/QC Lead will be responsible for ensuring that all mining operations, processes, and outputs meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. This role oversees the development, implementation, and monitoring of quality assurance and control programs across exploration, extraction, and production activities.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Your key accountabilities include

  • Supporting the monitoring of compliance with SHEC regulations by providing financial data and reports that help identify areas of concern
  • Adhering to and uphold all SHEQ related policies and standards enforced by the Khoemacau Mine.
  • Contributing towards an environment conducive of meeting SHEC standards and enhancing safety behaviours.
  • Developing and implementing QA/QC systems, policies, and procedures to maintain high standards of quality.
  • Monitoring and auditing mining processes, materials, and production outputs to ensuring compliance with industry standards and project specifications.
  • Coordinating testing, inspections, and documentation of mining operations and associated equipment.
  • Leading root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives for quality issues.
  • Training and mentoring site personnel on QA/QC protocols and best practices.
  • Collaborating with engineering, operations, and project teams to drive continuous improvement.
  • Preparing and maintaining detailed quality reports and records for internal and external stakeholders
  • Working with project managers and stakeholders to forecast costs and financial impacts.
  • Liaising with project managers, finance teams, contractors, and other stakeholders  ensuring alignment on financial and contractual goals and objectives.
  • Providing financial guidance and supporting  project teams.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR EFFECTIVE PERFORMANCE

  • Bachelors Degree in Electrical Automation or a related field
  • Masters in Engineering Management will be an added advantage
  • A minimum of 10 years extensive experience in QA/QC within a mining industry
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance Knowledge of and competence in the use of: Primavera P6, MS Project, MS Office, SAP Experience
