Main Responsibilities
- Develop and implement dewatering strategies to optimize performance and efficiency.
- Provide technical expertise and support to Mine operations, MTS, Processing and maintenance teams.
to ensure dewatering plans are adequately integrated into the three months rolling plan (3MRP) and weekly planning cycle.
- Conduct site assessments and recommend improvements to dewatering systems.
- Monitor and analyze dewatering performance data, identifying areas for enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to design and implement dewatering solutions.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices and new technologies in dewatering.
Knowledge & Skills
- Demonstrates strong technical knowledge of dewatering equipment (borehole and sump pumps), applications and technics.
- Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly to changing circumstances (i.e. mining, weather or other change of environment related consequences) to ensure the strategic plan is met.
- Ability to follow plan and prioritise multiple tasks through close cooperation with the team as a whole.
- Well-developed analytical skills and communication both verbally and inwriting with confidence to engage a variety of people (colleagues, contractors) and the aptitude to rationally explain, explore and discuss technical issues and capture feedback.
- Strong technical knowledge of dewatering equipment (submersible and centrifugal pumps), applications and techniques.
- Excellent proficiency in English, with experience in cross-cultural work environments.
Expérience
- Proven experience in dewatering operations and technology.
- Practical dewatering experience in an open pit mine in regions with wet season of at least 4 months a year.
- Experience working within an active open pit mine with an understanding of the Technical Services, Safe Working and Mine Planning function.
- Experience in project management and execution.
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools.
- Experience with Microsoft office software (especially Microsoft Excel), databases and Power BI in case
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
